PRIMARY ART
Term 3 has been filled with various art learning for our primary students. They started learning about how about aboriginal people tell their stories through art using symbols to represent various elements. We learnt from Rheanna Lotter, how she uses symbols to tell her family story and then our Primary students created their own family stories using the aboriginal symbols Rheanna demonstrated.
Our Prep – 2/3 students have been learning and experimenting with water colours. Mixing colours together to create new colours and using these colours to create their own paintings as well as colouring in.
Our 3/4 – 5/6 students have been creating small ornaments with air dry clay. Students have learned how to work the clay, minimise cracks and how to smooth edges. It has been a messy and fun learning experience!
Mrs Barber has had fun decorating the art room with an “under the sea theme”, utilising students Term 2 work in a large display at the back of the classroom. I am excited for our next theme “Spring has sprung” which will be developed with students during the start of Term 4.
